Cell Pack Solutions are working with VARTA
Microbattery who is making increasing use of the lithium polymer
system and have now launched a new generation of rechargeable
batteries - the VARTA PoLiFlex.
These slimline and ultra-light batteries can be shaped to
suit any device. The batteries don't exhibit memory effect,
have extremely low self-discharge, and offer long service
life, making them ideal for use in state-of-the-art electronics
applications such as in palmtops or organisers, for satellite-assisted
navigation systems (GPS), and particularly for the new multi-media
phones. Other applications are in the industrial sector -
mobile data capture and ticket sales systems, communications
and electronic payment systems all need batteries to function.
Polymer batteries can power small solar devices and are also
ideal for use in the medical sector. And they can also serve
as vital back-up systems for computers. They contain no heavy
metals and no free, liquid electrolytes - making them ecologically
friendly to manufacture. VARTA is striving to achieve a production
process that generates no waste air or water whatsoever.
The VARTA PoLiFlex® is currently available in two sizes.
The 750 mAh model is 3.8 mm high, 35 mm wide and 62 mm long,
while the 900 mAh model measures 4.2 x 35 x 66 mm - and includes
the electronic safety module. As a result, the space savings
offered can be enormous.
Cell Pack Solutions are specialists in
the design and manufacture of short to medium production runs
of custom engineered batteries and cell packs. They consider
this new range from VARTA as being an important advancement
in the design of product power supplies where space is at
a premium requirements.
