Cell Pack Solutions are offering a new
type of battery technology. The Pulses Plus battery
range from Tadiran's is a unique solution for applications
requiring low background currents combined with high current
pulses.
The Pulses Plus battery range combines
bobbin type Lithium Thionyl Chloride (Li/SOCl2) cells with
a novel hermetically sealed Hybrid Layer Capacitor (HLC).
This new battery technology can be used to deliver, efficiently,
pulses up to several amperes with a voltage window between
3.9 to 3.0 V. They can be connected in series or in parallel
to achieve higher pulses and higher voltages by combining
multiple cell/HLC's into battery packs.
They are ideally suited to applications
in Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), Toll Tags Transponders,
Various Military uses, Automatic Meter Reading Devices, Location
and tracking systems, GPS/GSM Related Systems, Emergency Equipment,
Oceanographic Devices and Medical equipment where long life
and durability are vital requirements.
Pulses Plus battery technology additionally
offers an unique combination of operation advantages such
as high energy density with a high and stable operating voltage
of 3.67 V as standard and 3.9 V as an option. Their high pulse
current capability also has no passivation effect. They can
be used in a wide range of operating temperature range between
-40 °C to + 85 °C. They have an outstanding storage
capability (up to 10 Years) with a very low self discharge
characteristics (less than 1.5 % per year)
Cell Pack Solutions claim that all these
features together make it the Pulses Plus battery range
the ultimate power source for many long term (independent
and stand-by) high current pulse applications.
