Cell Pack Solutions was initially set up as a Sole Trader operation by its current owner Eddie Czestochowski. His ambition was simply to create work for himself by solving battery related problems using the knowledge and contacts gained over the previous 12 years of employment within the Battery Industry.

6 years on and the company now employs 10 people and has built up strong supplier relationships with some of the best battery manufacturers in the world, companies such as Sonnenschein, Tadiran, Rayovac, Uniross and Ansmann . The main part of the business is its custom battery pack assembly facility based in South Shields. The company works closely with its OEM customers to develop bespoke battery packs, its strength has been its flexibility and speed of turnaround time.

Eddie Czestochowski says: "We cannot always compete with the Far East on price but it is surprising how many companies get let down on delivery and lead-times. Our supplier relationships mean that we can provide a viable alternative".

"The underlying philosophy of the company is that no order or problem is too small. We have a successful e-commerce web site that has been developed to supply both business and consumer customers with standard products such a Digital Camera Batteries, Cordless Phone Batteries and many more obscure types. In fact more that 1000 different types are stocked as standard with many more on request. We have also added a new range of Mobile Phone batteries to our range".

The success of the company's BatteryTastic web site has led Cell Pack Solutions to redefine its strategy and it is in the process of splitting its consumer and industrial activity with the formation of a new consumer based web site www.batterytastic.co.uk.

Eddie Czestochowski admitted: "Winning the North East Chamber of Commerce award for Innovation through Technology is very important to us, underlining our work across the North East and we are looking forward to representing the North East in the National Final". When asked about networking at local business events he said: "They have always featured highly in our business strategy. It gives us the opportunity to mix with other like minded individuals and to listen to and learn from their experiences and to pick up ideas that that can be applied to ones own business. Talking to someone recently at one of these meetings resulted in the addition of a replacement shaver battery product range, which has proved to be very successful".

When asked about the success of Cell Pack Solutions, Eddie added: "It's not just about having the right battery, it's about customer service and a positive attitude, and we are proud of our hard working staff. We employ local people and are passionate about what we have so far achieved in the North East of England. Because of our dedicated people we are seeing increased orders from both industrial and online e-commerce consumer markets, we now supply companies and individuals nation wide."
